Engineering pi-conjugation on surfaces

Abstract:

In this talk we will revise our recent advances regarding the on-surface synthesis, visualization and electronic/magnetic characterization of pi-conjugated low dimensional materials, including polymers and metal-organic networks. To this aim, we will take advantage of the powerful combination of scanning probe microscopies, X-ray adsorption spectroscopies and state-of-the-art density functional theory calculations.
