TweetThe researcher Fernando Martín García, scientific director of IMDEA Nanoscience and professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science (UAM), has received the 'Miguel Catalán' medal awarded by the Specialised Group in Atomic and Molecular Physics (GEFAM) of the Royal Societies of Physics (RSEF) and Chemistry (RSEQ).
The 'Miguel Catalán' medal, awarded on the 7th September 2023 to Prof. Martín, is given to a distinguished researcher who has excelled in the field of Atomic and Molecular Physics in memory of the Spanish spectroscopist Miguel Catalán Sañudo (1894-1957). The award is the responsibility of the GEFAM Board of Directors, after consultation with a Commission for this purpose. The first two GEFAM medals have been awarded in 2018 to Prof. Dudley R. Herschbach (Nobel Prize 1986) and in 2023 to Prof. Fernando Martín García.
